Do I have to pay for a quote?

No.  Once you have contacted us and discussed your requirements we will provide you with a no obligation quote and timescale for delivery, based on length and complexity of the content.

Who will translate my document?

Your document will be assigned to a qualified and accredited member of our team who specialises in your field and language pair.  You will be able to have direct contact with the translator should there be any queries from either party in order to ensure a fast and accurate service.

Can you download my website for a quotation?

It is preferable for us to receive your website by CD or secure drop box to ensure we are using the exact version of the website you wish to be translated.

How quickly can you deliver?

As a general rule our translators can translate and proofread approximately 2000 words per working day. However, initial queries and time for relevant research must be taken into account. If your deadline is urgent then please contact us to discuss your requirements.

What is Trados™?

Translation Memory (TM) Tools such as TRADOS™ work as a kind of terminology database which are extremely useful when translating large-volume documentation containing a high level of repetition. The benefits of TM tools are as follows:

Consistency of terminology and style across different documents. This allows a different translator to work on the same account while remaining faithful to previously translated documentation.

Speed. No sentence is ever translated twice so time is saved.

Reduced costs. When any similar or identical sentences are detected you are charged at a much-reduced rate.

Furthermore, TM tools do not entail any cost for the client whatsoever. Lingo Bridge will analyse all source files and manage and maintain the terminology databases, ensuring that translators are working on the latest versions.


IMPORTANT: Translation Memory Tools are an AID to human translation, NOT a replacement.

How do I know my material will remain confidential?

We take confidentiality very seriously and will sign a disclaimer confirming confidentiality of any documents received. Any documents received in hard-copy will be destroyed after the translation has been completed.

What file formats do you accept?

We are able to work with .doc .rtf .pdf .htm .html .htx .sgml .txt .ppt.xl and Quark at present, should your document be in another format other what the above listed, please get in touch to discuss this with us.

Can my translation be supplied back in its original format?

Yes. We endeavour to return your document in its original format, provided that it is in a format with which we are able to work. 

Will you keep the translation and the source text?

Yes. We keep our received translations on a secure database for 5 years. Contact us if, for any reason, you need your original document.

How long with my translation take?

Unfortunately, this question equates to “how long is a pice of string?” There are several factors to consider when agreeing a delivery date with the client, we will need to discuss this with you on an individual basis.

How much will it cost?

Again, we cannot give a flat rate price, the cost will depend on the urgency of the project, complexity of the subject matter and length of the text.  We can discuss your individual requirements via email or telephone – please contact us.

Is there a minimum order?

Unfortunately there is a considerable amount of work and administration involved for even a few words of translation, therefore our minimum charge for any piece of translation is £45. Our quote for your requirements will take length of text to be translated, as well as complexity of the subject matter into consideration.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept Paypal, all major credit cards, and we are also happy to accept payment by secure bank transfer in all major currencies.

What is your policy on environmental responsibility?

 We take our impact on the planet very seriously and strive to minimise this wherever possible by reducing waste and using sustainable energy resource suppliers.
